Boracay White sand beach resortMount Luho: the highest mountain on the island. An ascent of a 100m from the sea level is worth some cold water and soft drinks. A small hillock nestled among the trees on the tip of this mountain can be a good resting place after a cumbersome climb.

The Bat Caves: Located on the north east coast of Yapak gives a view of the reversely hanging mammals who come out screeching for food at the fall of dusk. Located in the jungles around a visitor to this cave must have the tenacity of bearing the foul smell that engulfs the cave.

Dead Forest: Comprising of a number of dead trees give a haunted look and provides the movie bucks with an ideal place to shoot a horror thriller.

The White Beach: The greatest attraction offered by Boracay to its tourists. The white silvery sand and the clean blue sea present a perfect stretch for the tourists to spend the day. Horse riding along the beach, beach volleyball or even a bare footed walk on the sand or even a sun bath on the beaches can be entertaining. The quiet sea gives one the opportunity to trip across the sea.

Star Gazing In Boracay: There's plenty of room to sit back and look to the heavens for inspiration. While you're mooning over a sea of stars, watch for a falling star, and make a wish. The visual delights never end specially at sun set as the stars creep into the evening sky and the sun spreads its red and yellow hues across the heavens.

Banue Rice Terraces

Banaue is the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage listed Ifugao rice terraces of Northern Luzon. The Banaue environs are visually beautiful, high in the mountains, sometimes shrouded in mist and cool rain. The rice terraces are a fabulous testament to the inspired agricultural engineering of the Ifugao people. Some of these terraces were constructed 2000 plus years ago, and all are still in use today.
The best time to go is between February and May end, when it is least likely that the views will be obscured by low level clouds.
Tourists come here to enjoy the scenery, to gaze at it from one of the many view points, to trek through it, or to wake up in it. I remember how awed I was by the scale of these rice terraces on my first visit some 10 years ago. I have been to or through Banaue more than 50 times since and often take the scenery for granted now.

                              Hapao and Hungduan Rice Terraces

The junction of the road leading to the Hapao and Hungduan rice terraces, is about half way between Banaue town proper and the View Point.  There are some regular Jeepneys that ply the route, or you can hire a tricycle or your own jeep to get there. This narrow road winds around the mountains with some great views of rice terraces. The only accommodation is the Native Village Inn at Uhij, about 9 km out of Banaue. This accommodation is traditional native huts. The Native Village Inn is situated high up on a mountain with stunning views over the Hapao rice terraces.  There is road access to it. Many short or long treks can be started from here. From here you can also take transport to take you to the unique spider web terraces of Hungduan. For more information about exploring and touring  the Hapao and Hungduan rice terraces, I suggest you go to the Native Valley Inn web site, which is an excellent site about this region. You can find their web site.

Located centrally in a group of islands that form the Visayas, central of the three main Philippine island groups, the others being Northern Luzon and southernmost Mindanao, may be one vertigo-inducing central too many. But puissant fortune has positioned this long and narrow island in the auspicious site, in the axis of an archipelago with 7,107 of its fellows.

Its geography is unique, stretching 122 miles, nowhere exceeding 20 miles across; the island is eight times the size of Singapore, and five times the size of Hong Kong. Modern topography maps show the back of a lizard immersed in teeming waters, a jagged cordillera rising 3,400 feet at the apex as its spine, gradually vanishing into plains on both its northern and southern ends. Cebu is long and narrow, allowing easy access to both the bounty of mountain and ocean: markets abound with both fresh seafood and produce.

Bantayan Island is known as the Lenten Capital of the Visayas. Bantayan Island is located at the northern most tip of the Cebu Mainland and is composed of the three municipalities, namely Sta. Fe, Bantayan and Medridejos.

Bantayan is a 2nd class municipality of Bantayan Island in the province of Cebu, Philippines which is administratively subdivided into 25 barangays namely Atop-atop, Baigad, Baod, Binaobao (Poblacion), Balidbid, Kabac, Doong, Hilotongan, Guiwanon, Kabangbang, Kampingganon, Kangkaibe, Lipayran, Luyongbaybay, Mojon, Obo-ob, Patao, Putian, Sillon, Sungko, Suba (Poblacion), Sulangan, Tamiao, Bantigue (Poblacion) and Ticad (Poblacio

The island's relationship with the ocean, however, is altogether a different love story. A combination of legend and archeology pieces together the story of Indonesian and Malay tribal chiefs who landed on these coastal shores, settling on virgin territory. As these people were not a lot bound by communal consciousness, little documentation of their collective lives are available. It is, however, gleaned from the records of the neighboring civilizations that they engaged in trade with, that the early settlers had a well-developed if not impressionable culture, and an existing commercial ethos.
